Start and Stop Characters
The Start/Stop Chars page enables you to configure the EDS to start a tunnel when it
receives a specific start character from the serial port and to disconnect upon
receiving the stop character.
Configure the start and stop characters mode:
1. Select Tunnel n and Start/Stop Chars at the top of the page. The Tunnel n
Start/Stop Chars page appears.

2. Enter or modify the following settings:

Chars Page Settings
Description
Start Character
Enter the start character in ASCII, hexadecimal, or
decimal notation.
Stop Character
Enter the stop character in ASCII, hexadecimal, or
decimal notation.
Echo Start Character Select On to forward (tunnel) the start character.
Echo Stop Character Select On to forward (tunnel) the stop character.
3. Click Submit.
